An Original 50's Drive-In

Mark's In & Out Beefburgers is an original 50's drive-in established in 1954. After more than 70 seasons, the real reasons customers keep coming back are the excellent service, the super-clean kitchen, and the tasty, wholesome beefburgers cooked and dressed the way you like them. Every patty starts as 100% pure Montana beef, ground fresh each morning by Diamond N Meats right here in Livingston. Walk up to the window, place your order, and grab a seat at the picnic tables or in your car while we cook it up fresh.

“Resist change. That's our motto.”

Our Heritage

Seventy Years at the Corner of 8th & Park

The story starts in 1954, when Mart Phillips opened a small walk-up burger stand on West Park Street and called it Mart's In & Out. The concept was simple: fresh beef, fast service, fair prices. Livingston took to it immediately.

In 1980, brothers Scott and Mark Black purchased the stand and put their own name on it. Very little else changed. The beef still comes from Diamond N Meats. The shakes are still Wilcoxson's ice cream. The walk-up window is still the only way to order. On weekends, roller-skating carhops deliver trays right to your car, just like they did in the fifties.

Sacagawea Park, a sprawling five-acre green space, sits directly across the street. Families grab their burgers and spread out on the grass. Kids run through the sprinklers while parents unwrap foil-wrapped beefburgers at the picnic tables. That scene has played out every summer for over seventy years.

“Nostalgia never goes out of style.”
